ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Sports Pir Aftab Hussain Jilani said Tuesday that there would be no big changes in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in near future although Javed Maindad would continue his job as Director General PCB . While talking to reporters here at Pakistan Sports Complex, he denied the reports regarding the conflicts amongst the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and Ministry of Sports, saying that all these organisations had only one task - promote sports in the country. Federal Minister pledged that it was up to President of Pakistan to make any change in the PCB , as the Patron-in-Chief of the board he was only authority to change the head of PCB . "We are the part of the president's team and follow his instructions but there is no reports regarding the removal of the chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board in near future," he said. While answering a question regarding the reinstatement of Javed Maindad, Pir Aftab said Javed was great hero of whole nation but he had to work with in the rules of the board after getting the duties in the office. "The chairman PCB and Javed Maindad will perform their duties for the promotion of cricket in the country," he hoped. Aftab further said that PCB was an autonomous sports organisation of the country and the high ups of the PCB were also working for the promotion of game. "They planning to bring international cricket at the soil of Pakistan but it will take time, as the Lahore incident wrecked the game of cricket in the country," he maintained. Responding to a question, he said that he visited the office of POA at Lahore and discussed various issue with the officials of the POA. "There are no difference between ministry, POA and PSB. We are spending a huge amount annually on sports and we want to streamline the affairs of sports and we will not touch the area of International Olympic Committee (IOC) and federations will work freely for the promotion of their respective games," he viewed.
