LAHORE - Remaining 37 days out of office, Mian Shahbaz Sharif resumed his charge within few hours after the Supreme Court verdict of restoration of Punjab govt on Tuesday. He announced to work with the PPP saying that it is the PPP which is to decide whether it wanted to continue with PML-N or not, thus throwing the ball in PPP court. He attended the office and passed some orders with immediate effect, conveying the message 'I have no time to waste and will deliver the best services from the stage it got discontinued. He also made numerous announcements such as setting up of a Judicial Commission to probe into the terrorist activity at Manawan Police Training Center in order to bring to book the responsible, price of roti to be brought down to Re 1 and accountability of every penny to be conducted against everyone found involved in misappropriation, funds pocketing and kickbacks, during the Governor Rule. He was provided Chief Ministers protocol and heightened security cover, when he came to take charge of his office. He was also provided a bulletproof car. The security was also beefed up at CM camp offices at Raiwind and Model Town. After getting the news, Shahbaz went to Raiwind from his residence in Defence where he met his brother PML-N chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his mother and other family members. His mother kissed him on his forehead and prayed for his further success. Weeping with joy, he hugged his family members and distributed sweets. Everyone felicitated him with prayers. He also called Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and appreciated his role in bringing normalcy in Punjab and throughout the country. Later, Yousaf Raza Gilani telephoned the PML-N chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and greeted him on the restoration of Punjab govt. Speaking to mediamen and workers at Raiwind and Model Town, he called the decision as the first decision of independent judiciary. He bowed down to Allah Almighty and swore that PML-N govt would start from where process of services had been broken. He said that revolution had come after the reinstatement of judges and now independent judges would meet the standards of justice demanded by the people over the last 62 years. The restoration of Punjab govt, he said, had conveyed as message to the people that unfinished agenda of public welfare that had been buried alive five weeks ago would be implemented with more devotion and vigour. Shahbaz said that he had directed Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa to contact PPP in order to to summon the Cabinet meeting. During his goodwill call to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, he said that Premier had said that he would talk to the PPP to attend the session. 'Whatsoever it will finalise, we will accept and are ready to cooperate, he said. About relation with Governor Punjab Salman Taseer, he said that he would not respond to his statements. However, positive gestures would be recipocrated, he added. He condoled the martyrdom of jawans of police during terrorism act at Manawan Training Center. He said that Judicial Commission would investigate the entire matter and its report would be made public. He disclosed that intelligence agencies had warned the Governors team about any possible tragedy. 'As a proof, I had a copy of that warning letter, he claimed. The letter clearly cautioned the administration that terrorist had a plan to attack police training center but it was neglected, he maintained. In case of Manawan terrorism, administration turned a deaf ear to the warning expressed in letter, he said and termed the attitude as criminal. Responsible could never be spared at any cost, he said. He announced that PML-N govt in Punjab would discourage political vendetta but would look into the spending of each penny squandered by foul means. Later in a development, PML-Q district Nazim Jhang Sahibzada Hameed Sultan, MNA Mehboob Sultan and MPA Aazam Cheela announced to support the PML-N.
