ISLAMABAD - Close Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras (CCTVs) would be installed at all police stations of the Federal Capital while unofficial vehicles would not be allowed to enter the premises of police stations. The decision was taken in a meeting here on Tuesday. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Capital Territory Administration Asadullah Faiz chaired the meeting to review the security arrangements. SSP Tahir Alam Khan, ADC (G) ICT Rana Akbar Hayat, SP West, SDMs, Magistrates and SDPOs attended the meeting.The Deputy Commissioner urged the police officials to further beef up security of the police stations and CCTV cameras should be installed at each police station. It was decided that the DC Office would provide four cameras to police stations. SSP Islamabad briefed the participants regarding measures taken to further beef up the security of police stations. These measures include installation of jersey barriers, ditches, sentry posts and concertina wires. SP West informed that a Standing Operating Procedure (SOP) had been chalked out regarding pouch ammunition to be kept by sentries on duty. Moreover, the entrances to all offices in police stations is directed through reporting room and entrance of unofficial vehicles to police station is also banned.
