Cashier shot as dacoits snatch away Rs5 million
Dacoits on Thursday shot and wounded the cashier of a private company on offering resistance during a robbery in Naseerabad police precincts. The gunmen snatched away the cash bag containing Rs5 million, police sources said. A police official said the victim was admitted to a hospital in critical condition. Police identified the cashier as Shoaib, who was employed at a private company in Gulberg. The police reached the spot when the robbers had escaped. Further investigation was underway. Meanwhile, police raided a massage center in the Garden Town area and arrested 15 persons including five women. A police official said owner of the massage center managed to escape during the raid. According to police, Ayesha Javed Siddique, the mother of actress Sheen Javed was running a massage center in the name of a beauty parlour.–Staff Reporter
US diplomat calls on CM
US Consul General Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif Thursday. During the meeting, different matters of mutual interests including promotion of Pak-US relations came under discussion. Five wounded in gun attack
Five people were wounded in a brazen gun attack which took place in the limits of Gowalmandi police late Wednesday night. The victims were rushed to the Mayo hospital with serious bullet injuries. A police officer said the shooting took place between two groups as they clashed over some dispute. The injured were identified by police as Usman, Hamza, Muhammad Abid, Asghar, and Muhammad Sadiq. One of the injured told the police that Chand Gujjar along with his accomplices opened indiscriminate fire in the street shortly after he exchanged harsh words with them over some dispute. The gunmen fled instantly. The police were investigating the shooting with no arrest made yet.–Staff Reporter
