ISLAMABAD - Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan yesterday accorded approval to upgrade grades of Police Constable, Head Constable and Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI).

Chairing a meeting here, it gave approval to upgrade grade of Constable from 5 to 7, Head Constable from 7 to 9 and grade of ASI from 9 to 11.

A statement issued here said that Nisar also accorded approval to bring salaries of Frontier Constabulary (FC) equal with police in phases within one and half year. In first phase, the salaries of FC personnel would be given 50 per cent increase.

Besides enhancing salaries, the FC personnel would also be given internal security duty allowance while service duration of FC personal would be increased from 35 to 45 years, this was further approved. After final approval from PM, a notification in this regard would be issued.
