300 women get cattle head

OKARA-Punjab Minister Yawar Zaman has said that the provincial government was taking practical measures to alleviate poverty from the rural areas.
He was speaking to a function managed by District Livestock Department to give away buffalos, cows and calves to 300 women selected on merit after a survey in 31 union councils of the tehsil.
The minister said that the cattle were the important factor in the rural economy for the field and other laboring class. The function was also address by Parliamentary Secretary Nadeem Abbas Rubera, Deputy Director Livestock Dr Ashraf, Assistant Commissioner Maham Asif Malik and others. It was the 3rd occasion of the distribution of cattle to the women of the rural belt.

Three of a dacoit gang held

GUJRANWALA - The CIA police claimed to have arrested three members of a dacoit gang and recovered cash, cellphones and illegal arms from them here the other day.
CIA DSP Imran Abass Chidhar told the media that Foju gang had been involved in dozens of dacoity and robbery incidents in Punjab province. He said the CIA police have arrested three gang members including ringleader - Afzal alias Foju. The two others were identified as Ali Raza and Qasim, the DSP said. Illegal arms, cellphones and Rs150,000 were recovered from them, he added.
