Seven grenades recovered in Attock

ATTOCK - The Attock police on Tuesday claimed to foil a terror bid and recovered seven grenades in the limits of Injra Police Station.

Sub-divisional Police Officer Mohammad Anwer told newsmen that the police found the grenades from a dried bed of a seasonal stream located near Bharwala. He said that the locally-made grenades were hidden for use for a possible sabotage activity. He said that a search operation was launched in the nearby area to check the possibility of the presence of suspected elements. A case has registered and further investigation is underway, he added.

Woman shot dead

A woman was shot dead and another injured by unidentified assailants in the Saddar police limits on Tuesday.

Sohaib Khan along with his two wives, Asma and Lubna, was returning home from a hospital in a rickshaw when the assailants showed up near Dhok Pathan and opened fire on them. As a result, Asma Bibi was killed on the spot and Lubna sustained serious injuries.

Rescue 1122 shifted the injured and the body to a local hospital. Asma Bibi, 23, was the mother of three children while Lubna was pregnant, police said. The police have registered an FIR and started an investigation.
