About a month and a half ago business tycoon, Malik Riaz announced financial assistance to the victims of Shikarpur tragedy, Rs.1 million for the heirs of martyrs and Rs.0.5 million for the injured. But it is regrettable that the financial assistance has not been provided. The martyred and injured in Shikarpur Imambargah blast were mostly young and sole supporters of their families. In the aftermath of such tragedy, leaving many handicapped, mentally and physically, is traumatic enough without the reality of someone making news out of your misery and not even helping. Anyone who plays with the feelings of people, at such a time, needs to review the promises he made, after all he is not a politician and he is morally bound to respect his promise.
