MULTAN : The routes for Multan Metro Bus have been marked by the local authorities but the final approval of the route will be given by the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif after this project’s inaugural on August 14th, The Nation has learnt.
Sources disclosed that three interchanges will be set up one each at Chungi No-9, BCG Chowk and Double Phattak. Sources added that after the approval of PC-1 as many as 11 sub PC-1s had been approved by the concerned department while the project would formally be kicked off by the CM Shahbaz Sharif on August 14th. However, the spot, where inauguration ceremony will take place, is not made public by the district administration for security reasons and it will be announced at 11th hour.
According to details, the Metro Bus project is consisted of two main and one supplementary routes. The first route begins from Bahauddin Zakariya University and ends at Chowk Kumharanwala via Chungi No-6, Chungi No-9, Daulat Gate, Hafiz Jamal Road, Chungi No-14, BCG Chowk and Vehari Chowkt . Similarly, the second route begins from BCG Chowk and connects with Chungi No-9 via Chowk Shah Abbas, Double Phattak, Aziz Hotel, SP Chowk, High Court Chowk, Old Bahawalpur Road, Kalma Chowk and Chungi No-8. The additional route runs between Chowk Double Phattak and Nag Shah.
