100 UoS students complete Access Programme

SARGODHA-Over 100 students of University of Sargodha (UoS) Wednesday completed English Access Micro-scholarship (Access) Programme, administered by the US State Department.
US Consul General Lahore Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau attended the graduation ceremony and distributed certificates to the graduates.
The Access programme provides English language and leadership training for high school students through afterschool classes over a two-year period. The U.S embassy currently supports 3,000 Access students in Pakistan and more than 13,000 students in Pakistan have graduated from the program.
“Before joining the Access program, I thought it would only be an English language course, but I realized later that it’s a whole package of personal growth. It equips the students not only with language skills but also with critical thinking, decision making, organizing events and team building skills,” says Seerat, an Access graduate.
Consul General Kennedy Trudeau thanked the graduating students and their families for their hard work and dedication. She praised the UoS management for their leadership in implementing the program and congratulated the Access graduates. Earlier, UoS Vice Chancellor Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad also addressed the ceremony and congratulated the Access graduates. Program coordinator Dr Azhar Pervaiz highlighted salient features of the program. On the occasion, the graduates preformed Folk Dances of all provinces.
