Eid Milad is celebrated on 12th of Rabiul Awwal every year to mark the birth of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). Muslims, on the day, pledge to follow the lofty teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in their entire lives.
The day dawned with special prayers at mosques for the betterment and prosperity of the country. Since it was Friday, religious leaders and scholars, in their sermons, spoke about the life and teachings of holy prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
A large number of small and big processions and rallies were taken out from various parts of the city on the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), in which the participants recited Darood Sharif, ayat from the Holy Quran and Naats.
A large number of people participated in the main rally, which was taken out from Memon Mosque, and finished at Nishtar Park. Similarly, a grand gathering was organised at Nishtar Park.
On the sacred day, the citizens resolved to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) by exercising restraint and patience.
Houses, mosques, bazaars, plazas and even roads were decorated with huge banners, bulbs and green buntings. Scores of models of Masjid-e-Nabavi (SAW) and Khana Kaa'ba were put on display in various parts of the city, including Korangi, Liaquatabad, Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, Kharadar, Burns Road, Goli Mar, New Karachi and Sarjani Town to enhance the spiritual aspect of the day.
The people also spent huge amount of money for charitable causes, while sweets were distributed in the city.
Various religious parties also arranged conferences, seminars and other special programmes to pay tributes to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on his birth anniversary.
Special security arrangements were made to protect the citizens.
Pak Navy celebrates Eid Milad
All units and ships of Pakistan Navy were illuminated to mark the birthday of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him); who came as a mercy for all creations. Special prayers were offered at all mosques in the units and residential areas for the prosperity and peace in country.
Moreover, the day dawned with 21-gun salute in the provincial capital, Karachi at PNS BAHADUR.
Mahafil-e-Milad were also arranged in various units of Pakistan Navy. Similarly, speech and Naat competitions were held in different commands of PN and glowing tributes were paid to the holy prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
Conferences were also held in which religious scholars highlighted the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and also shed light on the salient features of his personality.
Dozens of rallies were taken out under the banner of various religious organisations from different parts of the city in which a large number of people participated.
Camps were also set up along the routes of rallies in order to serve soft drinks and food to the participants.
Various buildings, private and government, were illuminated while flags were also hoisted at different places in the city. The participants of rallies kept reciting Naat and Durood Sharif.
Strict security arrangements had been put in place on this occasion, as police personnel were deployed at main chowks, roads, in the areas in the vicinity of processions to keep an eye on miscreants.
Rallies were also taken out in Mirwah Gorchani, Digri, Tando Jan Muhammad, Jhuddo, Kot Ghulam Muhammad, Sindhri, Hingorno, Phuladyyoon, Khaan etc amidst strict security arrangements.
