JUI-S to choose PTI or MMA soon

PESHAWAR - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami Chief Maulana Samiul Haq has said that his party will make a final decision either to make electoral alliance with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf or be part of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal after having a consultation with Difa-e-Pakistan Council.

We have not made any decision about the electoral alliance with any party yet. To take a formal decision, the JUI-S Markazi Majlis-e-Shura will meet on December 6, he said.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a function held at a private school in Nowshera on Saturday.

In the scheduled meeting, the Shura’s members will review all the options, and evolve a future strategy, he said. Before going ahead, on December 5, the JUI-S will also hold a very important meeting with the member parties of the Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC).

After having the meeting with DPC, the JUI-S would be in a better position about making an electoral alliance either be it with PTI or MMA for contesting the forthcoming elections, Maulana Sami-ul-Haq asserted.

Earlier in the day, a delegation of his party hailing from district Shangla met him at his residence in Akora Khattak, wherein, JUI-F office bearer from Shangla Maulana Fazli Subhan quit the party and formally announced joining the JUI-S.

Maulana Samiul Haq welcomed the newcomers and said that anti-Islamic forces were out to defame religious seminaries, adding that they would see no success in this way.

He said that his party had ever worked for people’s uplift and continues it in future too.
