Seminar on education awareness held

Kandhkot - A seminar on education awareness was held here at a local hotel on Saturday under the auspices of Al-Khidmat Foundation.

Former provincial minister for finance Sardar Saleem Jaan Mazari was chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Vivek Kumar and Junaid Mirani highlighted the importance of education, especially in rural areas of the country.

They said that without education, the country would not develop. They informed that according to various reports, 45 percent schools in Pakistan were in a dilapidated condition while around 26 million children were out-of-school. Similarly, they said, 16,000 schools in Sindh were closed.

Former provincial minister, in his speech, told the participants that youth were a source of strength for the country as evident by the services rendered by young doctors, engineers, scientists, politicians and others for the development of the country.

He further said that education did not discriminate between rich and poor, as it could be imparted to anyone; irrespective of gender or creed.

In the end, he thanked the Al-Khidmat Foundation for arranging the event of this nature for the very first time in Kandhkot. Social activists, lawyers, young doctors, media men and people belonging to other walks of life participated in the programme.
