MIRPUR (AJK): Eight persons were killed and 13 others sustained multiple injuries, five of them critical, when a passenger van plunged into a seasonal nullah near Azad Pattan town, about 40 kilometres from district headquarter of Sudhanoti in AJK Saturday afternoon, the police said. “The ill-fated Rawalakot-bound van (GA-4056) was on the way from Rawalpindi when it skidded off the road and fell into Guooein nullah in the territorial jurisdiction of Palandri (Sudhanoti district) at about 4.00 pm Saturday”, Incharge officer Police Control Room Palandri told this Correspondent on telephone Saturday evening. The officer said that eight of the passengers died and 13 others injured, including five critical, were shifted to CMH Rawalakot and Hospitals in Rawalpindi. The AJK Police and rescue teams comprising locals rushed to the scene and shifted the bodies and injured from the deep nullah.–Staff Reporter
