KARACHI: Rangers called for closing political parties’ offices operating in government departments on Sunday.

The paramilitary force said in a statement that several ghost and other government employees were working for one or the other party and they were behind in target killing and the overall unrest in the port city.

A Rangers spokesman said that it had been decided in the apex committee meeting that no government department would be allowed to be used by any political party.

The spokesperson said that ghost and other employees recruited on political grounds should be terminated immediately as they were involved in promoting and funding terrorism. He also said that people contacted Rangers on its helpline if anyone forced them for donation.
