Newly-elected Icelandic President Gudni Johannesson will be among the eight percent of his country’s total population in attendance at the European Championship quarterfinal match against France. But he doesn’t want to be like the proverbial one percent and sit in a VIP box like other dignitaries. Instead, he plans to sit in the stands with regular fans. “Why would I go in the VIP room?” Johannesson said, smiling. “No, I will be in the stands with the fans and I will wear my Iceland shirt.”
