HARIPUR: Three Chinese Engineers were among four people died while eight others were injured when shuttering fell down at construction site of Tarbela Extension Project on Sunday.

Rescue sources said that Chinese Engineers and labourers were engaged in routine development work on site of Tarbela Extension Project-IV when shuttering suddenly came down burying the people present at the scene under the debris.

Bodies of four including three Chinese Engineers and eight injured were pulled out from the rubble and shifted to hospital.

Rescue 1122 personnel were searching the debris as more people were feared to be buried under the rubble.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has conveyed his condolence to the families of the Chinese engineers who lost their lives during expansion work.

In a statement, he directed the concerned authorities to make quick arrangements for sending the bodies of the deceased engineers to their home country. He said well-being and safety of the remaining Chinese engineers at the project should be ensured.
