QUETTA Four people including three armed assailants and a personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) were killed while four others wounded in a gun-battle in Khuzdar District, some 350 KM southeast of Quetta, in the early hours of Friday. According to FC spokesperson Murtaza Baig, a group of terrorists attacked FC party with sophisticated weapons which was heading towards Khuzdar from Surab at the National Highway near Sunni area. As a result of firing one FC personnel identified as Sabzal Ali died on the spot while four others including Major Sohail, Sub-Inspector Naseer, Naseeb and Alamdar received injuries, he added. Baig said that later FC personnel chased the attackers and after exchange of firing three miscreants were killed. 'FC personnel also recovered weapons from the custody of attackers, he said, adding, that the deceased and injured security personnel were shifted to CMH Khuzdar while condition of one injured was serious and he was shifted to CMH Quetta for further treatment. The bodies of accused persons were shifted to Khuzdar Civil Hospital where they were identified as Nabi Bakhsh, Abu Bakar and Ahmed residents of Pandrani area of Kalat district. Police handed over the bodies to heirs after completing legal formalities and started further investigations. Meanwhile, a FC soldier received critical wounds in a landmine blast in area of Kohlu district. Sources said that Lance Naik Muhammad Ramazan was performing his duty when he stepped on a landmine laid by unidentified people. He received critical wounds when the mine exploded. He was shifted to the hospital for treatment.
