Notices issued to Pak envoys

LAHORE Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman of the Lahore High Court Friday issued notice through the Attorney General of Pakistan to the Pakistan ambassadors respectively in Indonesia and Japan as well as other respondents on a petition through which allegations of financial embezzlement and receipt of kickbacks in contract for the sale of property owned by the said missions have been levelled with a prayer to the court for holding inquiry into the same. The petition has been filed by one Dr Qaiser Rashid alleging that huge kickbacks and commissions have been received in the sale of buildings and residential property owned by the said Pakistani embassies in their respective countries. He alleged that the price property has been sold out at throw away price to a Japanese company and the money obtained through the kickbacks has been invested on Ayesha Steel Mills. The court has fixed further hearing of the matter for January 18 next year.
