LAHORE - The Ministry of Sports has given nod of approval Pakistans 33-member contingent for the second Asian Beach Games to be held in Muscat, Oman, from December 8 to 16. The number of 45 nations is participating in 52 events of 14 sports. Pakistan will take part in four games that include bodybuilding, sailing, handball and Kabbadi. In 1st Asian Beach Games held in Bali, Indonesia, Pakistan participated in the same four disciplines and ended its campaign with 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze. The contingent will be led by Doda Khan Bhutto as Chef de Mission with five contingent officials. The bodybuilding team comprises of players Mohammad Bilal, Muahhamd Imran Qureshi, Khalid Ali, Jawad Ali Lone with Manager Sohail Anwer. The sailing team comprises Najeebullah Khan, Muhammad Yusuf, Raja Qasim Abbas Rathore Khalid Ali, Muhammad Tanveer with official Cdr (r) Mirza Arshad Husain. The handball team comprises Tahir Ali, Muhammad Shoaib, Muhammad Uzair Atif, Nasrullah, Muhammad Shahid Pervez, Azher Khan, Tariq Iqbal, Asif Ali, Naseer Ahmed, Babar Sultan with Manager Iqrar Ahmed and Coach Muhammad Imran. The kabbadi team includes Nasir Ali, Wajid Ali, Waseem Sajjad, Muhammad Arshad, Ibrar Hussain, Muhammad Khalid with Coach Maj. Ahmed Nadeem Sadal. The contingent is scheduled to depart from Islamabad on December 6 at 10 am.
