LAHOREThe workers of the Pakistan Railways on Friday staged protest demonstration and took out a rally against delay in payment of their salaries. The employees said that the delay in salaries had become a permanent problem for them. They also staged sit-in, chanted slogans, surrounded the divisional superintendent office and blocked the traffic. They demanded that like PIA and Steel Mills, the railways needed a bailout package of Rs 40 billion immediately. They said the department had ensured timely salary and regularization of the contract employees.
