ISLAMABAD - PTCL , under its banner of brand Evo Nitro in collaboration with High Performance Racing (HPR), brings the drag racing competition for all avid car racers. The Evo Nitro Speed Quest drag race is scheduled to be held from tomorrow (Sunday) in Bahria Town Phase 8, where racers from all over the country would participate. In this legal car racing event, participants have a chance to race head-to-head in a secure and professional environment with the facilities of ambulance, fire brigade available in case any need arises. The event has been segregated into different categories depending on car specifications, so that each car could compete against its own type and would be fairly determined which is the fastest and who the better driver is. The arrangements have been made to give every participant a fair chance and give winner a real sense of accomplishment. SEVP Commercial Naveed Saeed said that this event was very encouraging initiative that had been taken not only to bring forward the best racing talent in Pakistan but also to provide racers a platform where they would feel secure to participate at a competitive level in their favourite sports. He said PTCLs affiliation with the event came as natural as brand EVO 3G Nitro is all about fastest ever On-the-Go internet connectivity. that provides the consumers high speed thrills and ultimate performance. According to him, PTCL has always been on the fore front as an organisation that encourages sporting events and provides healthy opportunities to the talented youth of Pakistan. Expressing his views, Owner and Partner of HPR Atif Sheikh said this was established to fulfil the passion of racing and later on, transformed into a wide spread business. The main objective behind holding the event which conformed to international racing standards was to change the pre-conceived notion that people have about drag racing events in Pakistan. We are a country with immense talent in car racing, it just needs to be polished and encouraged the youth properly through a professional platform and we intend to provide that to the car racers, he said. Motor sport is one of the most prominent and highly acclaimed sports worldwide but unfortunately it has not been given its due share in Pakistan because of lack of proper venues and guidance. By holding this event, our aim is not only to create awareness among masses but also to take the game to an altogether new level in the country, he concluded.
