Seminars held on Day of Disabled

LAHORE Like other parts of the globe, International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed across the country including the City on Friday. Since 1992, the United Nations (UN) International Day of Persons with Disabilities is annually held on December 3. It aims to increase the understanding of the issues and attention to the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also aims to increase the awareness of the gains for everybody if disabled persons are integrated into all aspects of political, social, economic and cultural life and raising money for resources for persons with disabilities. Seminars, workshops and walks were organized in major cities including Lahore to raise awareness about issues surrounding persons with disabilities and responsibilities of various segments of the society. In Lahore, Institute for Disabled Children organized a seminar at its Campus in Johar Town. High Commissioner of Bengladesh was the Chief Guest. IQTIDAR GILANI
