Workshop highlights importance of entrepreneurship

Lincoln Corner University of Sargodha (UoS) organised a workshop titled 'Entrepreneurship Training' on Sunday for the promotion of start-ups and entrepreneurship training in the district.

It is a five-day extensive workshop in which students will learn about basic and operational concepts about the entrepreneurship. The workshop is being held under the auspices of Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, UoS Department of Business Administration, the US Consulate and local entrepreneurs.

This training is a pilot project to make students think out of the box about the definition of employment. Zymal Umar is the youngest entrepreneur of Pakistan. She has visited the United States of America as a motivational speaker and also won Prince Abdul Aziz Award for Children Pioneer/Ecopreneur Award in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Her presence at the workshop was inspirational for all the participants of the training. Zymal has made hand-made bags and donated all the money she earned to SOS Children's Village, orphan house, fountains house, poor people and widows.

Zymal's social entrepreneurial idea is to promote use of recycling. She uses newspapers and recycles materials for making her bags. Her idea is to promote greenery and degeneration of plastic which causes environmental pollution.

She was invited to talk with participants of the workshop. She shared her story of success and achievement. She highlighted the importance of team work, hard work, consistency and persistence to promote social entrepreneurship. "It's never late to start working," she believes.

Zymal's idea is a real lifetime example for the promotion of entrepreneurship among students. Such examples realize the importance of community development through using limited resources they have and challenge all hurdles they find on their way. The participants of the training asked Zymal questions about her success and journey to the United States. UoS Lincoln Corner appreciated her arrival at the workshop.
