OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A 20-year-old girl was shot dead by two brothers over honour in Sattukatla police limits on Sunday. The victim was identified as Kausar, a resident of Nawab Town. Police investigators said that her brothers had a doubt that she had developed illicit relations with her cousin. The accused brothers were identified as Zaman and Shada. They had also warned their sister several times but she put a deaf ear towards their advice. On the day of incident, when Kausar returned back to her house, her two accused brothers opened indiscriminate firing on her. Resultantly, Kausar sustained serious bullet injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Sattukatla police have registered a case against accused persons on the complaint of deceaseds father Falak Sher under section 302 of PPC with no arrest so far. Edhi: Edhi Foundation Lahore has shifted 574 persons and 1527 injured persons to different hospitals during the last six months of current year. According to a press release issued on Sunday, Edhi ambulance services also shifted 11194 dead bodies and 19265 patients to hospitals. 427 people were admitted to Edhi Home Gulberg and Bilqees Edhi Home Township, 268 out of them were brought to their houses. Edhi Foundation has buried 62 unidentified bodies given by different police stations. Meanwhile, Edhi Free Dispensary Iqbal Town treated 16446 patients. Edhi spokespersons said that in case of emergency, citizens can call Edhi emergency No 115. Fire: Fire broke out in a basement of a private hospital located at Jail Road due to short circuiting and reduced valuables worth thousands of rupees into ashes. Firefighters rushed the spot and extinguished the fire after hectic efforts. A rescue official said that the fire had erupted due to short circuit in a store of the hospital. However, due to timely response of Fire Service, the entire hospital was saved from huge loss. gang held: The Old Anarkali police claimed to have arrested two members of a criminal gang involved in car lifting and recovered 10 cars, three bolans, four mobile phones and one pistol from their possession on Sunday. The arrested criminals confessed committing 19 felony acts in Old Anarkali, Ghalib Market, Sattukatla, Naseerabad, North Cantonment, Misri Shah, Faisal Town, Gulshan-e-Ravi and Township areas. The arrested criminals were identified as Zafar Mahmood alias Munna, the ringleader, and Muhammad Arshad. Meanwhile, Shahdra Town Investigation police have arrested Moon Akram and Tariq gangs involved in mobile snatching and recovered mobile phones worth Rs. 70 thousand and 2 pistols from their custody.
