OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE No law exits in the Punjab to apprehend the adulterators, while a notification for the Food Safety Bill has not been issued so far, said Muhammad Akram Chaudhary, Secretary Information (Punjab) of the PML-Q. He was addressing a press conference at Muslim League House on Sunday. Akram alleged that the Punjab chief minister was playing with the lives of the people by not notifying the Bill. He also accused the provincial chief executive of nepotism, claiming that a doctor, namely, Hamid Jalil who was working in grade 18 in veterinary livestock with a salary package of Rs60,000, has been appointed as chairman of the Lahore Meat Company. Now he will get a monthly pay of some six hundred thousand rupees. Directions in this regard have already been issued by the chief minister, he claimed. Akram maintained that there were two different prices for meat in the province. One is Rs350 per kg, while another, which is being controlled by the Meat Corporation working under the provincial government, is Rs485 per kg. The PML-Q leader demanded the provincial government to act upon the recommendations of the Justice Mansoor Ali Shah Commission to give relief to last years flood affectees in Southern Punjab. Replying to a query, he claimed PML-Q chief Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain was playing his role to protect the national institutions, while the PML-Ns head, Nawaz Sharif was uttering statements against the State institutions to appease the opponents of Pakistan. Responding to another question, he remarked that the entire nation had witnessed the rowdyism of the PML-N in the Azad Kashmir elections and claimed that at last Nawaz Sharif has accepted PML-Ns defeat in Azad Kashmir polls.
