ISLAMABAD (APP) - Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashique Awan on Sunday said there was no threat to the government from any grand alliance. Talking to PTV, Firdous said the formation and break-up of alliances were part of democratic traditions and it was the right of every political party. The government would welcome any grand alliance if formed, she added. She said the act of any party or alliance to conspire against a democratic government or destabilise it under the cover of such democratic rights was highly condemnable. Responding to a question, the Information Minister said since the Pakistan Peoples Party and its allied parties had a majority in the parliament so they have a democratic right to rule the country. It is the right of the government to discourage the elements who want to destabilise the country by spreading unrest, she added. She further said Nawaz Sharif was just trying to eliminate his partys political isolation.
