LAHORE - Central PPP leader and Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Syed Asif Hashmi on Sunday said that workers were the real asset of the party and their unprecedented and everlasting sacrifices shall remain part of history. Addressing a cheque distribution ceremony at his residence here, the PPP leader said that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani considered party workers as part of his government and was aware of their problems. Hashmi distributed cheques amounting to Rs 50,000 each among the heirs of those who lay down lives in Karsaz tragedy in Karachi and at Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi in the company of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He said government was successfully heading towards its destination despite all odds. He said those talking of dislodging the present government were the enemies of people and the democracy. Asif said that PPPs historic success in AJK polls was a tremendous proof of its popularity among the masses. He said those talking of numbers game will be reduced to numbers, while PPP government will complete its full five-year term.
