SSUET presents performance recognition awards

KARACHI - Sir yed University of Engineering and Technology Chancellor ZA Nizami has said the SSUET always endeavoured keep pace with the latest technological trends.“We were the first to start Biomedical Engineering at Sir Syed University and plans are afoot to introduce some more technologies in near future”, he said while speaking at the Performance Recognition Award ceremony organized by the SSUET’s Continuing Education Program (CEP).IT professional Farrukh Nizami was the main driving spirit behind the Program at SSUET and initially introduced two courses CCNA in 1997 and Java in 2000. Then according to the market survey 19 more programmes were launched in various fields like networking, electronics, software development, project management, finance & accounts and marketing. The graduates with CEP courses are given preferences for the jobs at national and international level and so far over 13,000 participants trained in various fields indicating the success and great acievement of Continuation Education Programme.IT Advisor Farrukh Nizami with a number of internaional certifications has been instrumental for the establishment of CISCO Academy in the university. Cosidering the high quality of training by the well qualified trainers coupled with state-of-the-art laboratories, CISCO International has established “CISCO Regional Academy” in Sir Syed University and authorized it to train and conduct CISCO examinations.  Sir Syed University has also been selected as “Instructors Training Centre” of CISCO for Sindh region.The immediate advantage is that the students will pay only 50% online examination fee to CISCO ($ 125 instead of $ 290). University has availed 60% discount over the purchase of CISCO equipment.  Catering to the global demand, IT advisors Ziaullah Khan and Asadullah Choudhry also introduced some valuable courses at CEP with excellent results and more than 700 candidates of engineering background from public and private universities such as NED, NUST, MAJU Karachi University are paricipaing in these programmes. Chancellor Z.A. Nizami gave shields to the IT advisors Farrukh Nizami, Ziaullah Khan and Asadullah Choudhry for their best performance in Management and IT sector.Dr Mirza Imran Baig, Associate Professor, Telecommunication Engineering Department, received the best performance award to bring out the first ever research journal of Sir Syed University.Participants of the CEP were awarded with appreciation certificates for their outstanding performance.Earlier Advisor CEP Mukhtar Ahmed Naqvi presented the welcome address and explained in detail the performance and progress of the Continuing Education Programme during the course of time.Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Jawaid Hassan Rizvi, Dr Najeeb Siddiqui, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Engr Adil Usman, Convenor AIT also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the important features of CEP and progress with future plans.
