Hepatitis Prevention and Treatment Programme concluded
LAHORE (PR): Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Centre (PKLI&RC) has organised closing ceremony of a two-weeks training under Hepatitis Prevention and Treatment Programme (HPTP) at Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED).
A large number of representatives from government, civil society, academia, and media other than participants attended the ceremony. Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmed, Minister for Population Welfare, Punjab was the chief guest. This two-weeks long course provided basic knowledge and skills to the newly inducted medical professionals of PKLI including doctors, nurses, paramedics, and technicians to treat Viral Hepatitis patients at different Hepatitis Prevention and Treatment Clinics (HPTCs) of PKLI being setup in 25 districts of Punjab.
PKLI designed this special course to ensure the best care of hepatitis patients and quality of treatment.
The training helped in harnessing skills and building the capacity, which is new experience for us, said participants.

Honda Atlas Cars Vendor Conference 2017
LAHORE (PR): The Annual “Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Ltd Vendor Conference, 2017” took place on October 20 at a local hotel.
President/CEO Toichi Ishiyama with the management were present at the event. Kenichi Matsuo, Vice President Production, gave the welcome address. He emphasized that HACPL is paying tremendous attention for localisation expansion. The recently launched new models of Civic & BR-V are a clear evidence of HACPL sincere commitment to localisation.
Topics under discussion at the conference were current status of localisation and future localization strategy, ongoing Honda good practices, environment improvement activities and Honda quality culture implementation. One of the main highlights of the conference was the expansion of localisation in near future. HACPL is stepping ahead for more localisation especially focusing on functional & high tech parts. As a joint activity, HACPL will do efforts to enhance and transfer knowledge and expertise to the local vendors.
PTCL commences blood donation drive
ISLAMABAD (PR): Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) commences a nationwide Blood Donation Drive, whereby the company has partnered with reputable donor agencies and made a pledge to donate over 5,000 pints of blood.
To highlight the importance of donating blood for a healthier society, PTCL has initiated this week-long campaign which encompasses PTCL employees, their families and the general community. An awareness session was held at PTCL Headquarters for this cause to encourage people to donate blood during the campaign. Dr Wasifa Mutassim, Assistant Director, Pakistan Red Crescent delivered a talk which was attended by many employees including senior PTCL officials.
Shell holds technology seminar in Faisalabad
KARACHI (PR): Shell Pakistan in collaboration with Bari lubricants (Shell’s authorised distributors) organised a technology seminar for its consumers in Faisalabad. The objective of the event was to highlight technological advancements incorporated in Shell products, along with their associated benefits to its consumers.
The seminar was attended by technical and commercial personnel from leading Industries based out of Faisalabad and its outskirts. The Shell lubricants’ leadership team discussed the value addition by Shell’s industrial lubricants in the manufacturing process and how these products have helped industries across the board in bringing efficiencies within their production processes, by emphasizing the importance of total cost of ownership.

Sika launches LEED certified construction chemical plant
LAHORE (PR): Sika, a swiss construction chemical manufacturing company, expanded the footprints by inaugurating its manufacturing plant in Sundar Industrial Area Lahore. The announcement was made in a press conference held at the Avari Hotel on November 3, 2017.
The fully automated manufacturing facility is Pakistan’s first ever LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified construction chemical plant. LEED is an International rating system for buildings which evaluates environmental performance and award points across several areas that address sustainability. The factory will produce mortars and liquid products of construction chemicals locally.
Local production will bring quality products more close to their customers and to contribute into economy of Pakistan by decreasing imports.
LG Electronics announces financial results
ISLAMABAD (PR): LG Electronics Inc (LG) announced consolidated third-quarter 2017 revenues of KRW15.22 trillion ($13.44 billion), an increase of more than 15 percent compared with the third quarter the previous year. All of LG’s four major business units reported higher revenues from the same period a year ago. Quarterly operating income of KRW516.1 billion ($455.7 million) almost doubled from 2017, reflecting strong profitability in home entertainment and appliances despite the gloomy business environment resulting from increasing international trade concerns.
The LG Home Appliance & Air Solution Company once again accounted for the largest share of quarterly revenue with KRW4.98 trillion ($4.4 billion), an increase of 16 percent from the same period last year.
