Two held with explosives, detonators

ATTOCK-The police arrested two alleged culprits trying to smuggle explosives for a terror bid in Punjab.
The police have registered a case against the culprits under 7ATA.
According to police sources, a team of the Hazro Police, on tip off, signalled a car (LOR-3779), coming from KPK to stop on GT Road near Hatian. It driver, however, accelerated and attempted to escape.
The police chased down the car but two of the alleged culprits, taking advantage of the darkness, escaped while the car driver, identified as Adil, resident of Kherabad and Khial Zaman, resident of Nowshera were apprehended.
During search of the car, police recovered 23kg explosives and safety fuse having total length of 1,050 meters and 500 detonators.
The culprits during initial interrogation, informed the police that the explosive was being transported for terror activities. The culprits disclosed that their accomplices escaped from the scene included Wajid Ali and Farhad, residents of Nowshera. The police have registered an FIR under 7ATA and explosive act and started further investigation.
