AIR provides Quaid’s speeches to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - On the request of Radio Pakistan‚ All India Radio has provided speeches of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to Pakistan.
All India Radio (AIR) Director General Leela Mandoi told Radio Pakistan’s current affairs channel that the speeches of Quaid-e-Azam were being provided on the request of the Pakistan government forwarded by Pakistan High Commission to AIR.
He said his organization would cooperate with Radio Pakistan and provide any other material which it required.
All India Radio has provided two speeches of the Quaid. One delivered at All India Radio in New Delhi on June 3‚ 1947, giving his reaction over a referendum in the NWFP about its joining Pakistan or India.
The second speech was delivered by Quaid-e-Azam to the 1st Constituent Assembly of Pakistan on August 11‚ 1947. In this speech, the Quaid thanked the British rule for its decision to transfer power to the new state of Pakistan. These speeches will become part of the archives of Radio Pakistan.
