5,300 appear in SALU entry test

KHAIRPUR - Tests for admissions in Bachelor programmes at all the departments of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) were held at university’s green lawns on Monday.

The tests were held for admissions in SALU’s main campus at Khairpur besides at Shikarpur, Ghotki and Shahdadkot.

More than 5,300 candidates, including 1,100 females and 4,200 males, sat in the exams for admissions in 28 departments.

SALU Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Parveen Shah went to the university to inspect holding of the tests himself. 

Speaking to the candidates, Professor Dr Parveen Shah said, “This is for the fifth time in the history of the university that entry tests were being held.”

“On this auspicious occasion, I must share with you that according to a recent report by Education Commission of Pakistan (ECP), only one percent boys and girls in Pakistan were able to study at the university level,” she informed.

Parveen further said that today Pakistan needed highly qualified, competent, committed and credible human resource to pull it out of multiple crises it was currently passing through.

The VC hoped that the students of SALU, Khairpur will always be an integral part of that qualified class.

Furthermore, she also announced that the tuition fees of first three position holders of the entry test would be waived off. The VC expressed her complete satisfaction over the arrangements made for the smooth holding of tests in a congenial and conducive environment.

Professor Dr Muhammad Yousuf Khushk, Dean, Faculty of Arts & Languages, Professor Dr Syed Noor Shah Bukhari, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Professor Dr Mumtaz Hussain Mahar, Dean, Faculty of Physical Sciences, Professor Dr Badaruddin Memon, Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Professor Dr Ghulam Sarwar Markhand, Director Ghotki Campus, Professor Dr Taj Muhammad Lashari, Media Coordinator, Professor Dr Ghulam Mohiuddin Veesar, Professor Dr Muhammad Hassan Khaskheli, Professor Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, Muhammad Hassan Shaikh, Ms. Paras Niaz Khaskheli and others also accompanied the VC during the visit.
