BAHAWALNAGAR/ GUJRANWALA/ -   SHEIKHUPURA  -  Five persons were killed while seven others were injured in different incidents occurred separately here the other day.

In Bahawalnagar, a man and his son were killed while three others were injured after the car they were travelling on rammed into a trailer parked on Highway Road.

Ch Ashraf of Chak 18 Gajyani was on the way to Islamabad along with his son Fahad and three others on a car for the admission of Fahad to a university. On Highway Road, driver lost control over steering and it rammed into a trailer parked on the road. As a result, Ch Ashraf and Fahad were killed on the spot while three others including Waqas, Adnan and Akhtar sustained injuries and were shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital. Trailer driver managed to escape the scene. Police handed over the dead bodies to family after medico-legal formalities.

In another incident, a labourer was crushed under a crane while working at Adam Sugar Mills Chishtian. The deceased was identified as Mujahid Ali of Basti Ahmedpur.

He was father of two children. His dead body was shifted to Chishtian Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

In Gujranwala, a man was crushed to death by a car while crossing road at Dhonkal and two others including a minor boy were injured in separate incidents. A 45-year-old man was crossing road when a speeding car ran over him. Resultantly, he sustained critical injuries and was rushed to DHQ Hospital where he breathed his last. Identity of the deceased is yet to be known.

In another incident, a youth was injured by kite string. Musa, a local Jamate Islami leader, was on the way on a motorcycle. Near Mini Stadium, string of a kite fell on him. As a result, he sustained injuries on his neck and was rushed to DHQ Hospital. CPO Ashfaq Khan suspended the Sabzi Mandi police SHO for not controlling kite flying in his jurisdiction.

On the other hand, a minor boy sustained critical burns after falling into a tub filled with hot water. Two-year-old Musa was playing at his house when the incident occurred. He was rushed to DHQ Hospital from where doctors referred him to Lahore due to his critical condition.

In Sheikhupura, a labourer died after receiving critical burns at a leather factory on Lahore Road near Tibba Rehmat. Labourers were working at machinery room of the factory when a fire broke out due to short circuit. The fire engulfed the room in no time. Three labourers including Faisal, resident of Dera Ghazi Khan, Hanif and Gulzar sustained critical burns. They were shifted to a hospital in Lahore where doctors pronounced Faisal dead. The other two are being treated in the hospital and their condition is stated to be critical. Factory area police area investigating.
