Huge quantity of liquor seized


LAHORE – The Capital City Police claimed to have seized a huge quantity of imported liquor for unidentified accused men in Millat Park police precincts late on Saturday. Informed sources, however, said the two SPs, DSP Samanabad, SHO Samanabad, SHO Millat Park and some other police officers masterfully showed that only two trucks loaded with thousands of bottles were seized.
“Actually, three trucks were seized and policemen dislocated on truck and showed two trucks and distributed liquor among their colleagues and friends,” they added.
Taking note, the CCPO Lahore Malik Ahmed Raza Tahir ordered an inquiry in the embezzlement of 5000 bottles imported liquor by Millat Park Investigation Police. Ahmad Raza directed SSP (Investigation) Abdul Razzaq Cheema to inquire the matter and submit the final inquiry report to him.
Sources said that the liquor loaded on the truck was shifted to a hideout of one ‘Kami’ of Sodewal area through a pickup van. They said that the truck contained 5000 bottles of liquor worth of more than Rs 20 millions. According to them, the Millat Park police officers distributed liquor among their like-minded SHOs and few other seniors.
Earlier, police concerned claimed to have impounded two trucks loaded with huge quantity of liquor of imported brand. Police also arrested four persons whereas their two accomplices managed to flee from the scene. Police lodged an FIR against them. Further investigations are underway.
