Lahore - Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the public service and fixing problems is the ‘central point’ of the PML-N government.

 “Side by side raising the country economically, the PML-N government has saved billions of rupees in the mega development projects launched across the country,” the CM said in a meeting with British House of Lords Member Lord Nazir Ahmad yesterday.

According to a handout, Lord Nazir appreciated the performance of CM Shehbaz for speedy completion of development projects and implementation of revolutionary programme of public welfare of the province.

He said Shehbaz has set new records of public service and credit of completion of public welfare projects with quality, speed and transparency goes to the dynamic leadership of Shehbaz.

He said the PML-N government has set a new example by saving billions of rupees in development projects. Transparent in development projects by Shehbaz is also being acknowledged at international level which is an honour for Pakistan especially Punjab, he added.

He said that problems of overseas Pakistanis are being solved with the setting up of Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission.

The CM said journey of service, honesty and transparency is continuing speedily under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. He said that the pivot of PML-N government is only service to the people.

Tremendous work has been carried out for resolving the problems of the people during the last three and a half years, he added. Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan of today has changed and is making rapid progress.

 He said that Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab is rendering invaluable services for resolving the problems of Pakistanis living abroad. He said that with the setting of this commission, problems of overseas Pakistanis have been resolved on priority basis.

Separately chairing a meeting of Cabinet Sub-Committee on Law and Order, the Punjab CM praised the body, police and administration for maintain peace.

He said the state institutions also performed their duties efficiently during protests in previous days and did not allow anyone to create hurdle in the daily routine of the people.

Shehbaz Sharif said that protection of life and property of the people is basic responsibility of the state and no effort should be spared in ensuring the supremacy of law and justice.

He directed indiscrimination action against those taking law in their hand and said that no one will be allowed to take law in ones hand. He said that encouragement of employees and the institutions has resulted in improvement of the performance of the departments.

Rana Sanaullah, Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Rana Mashhood, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Bilal Yasin, Hamza Shehbaz, Zaeem Hussain Qadri and other senior officials attended the meeting.

Nisar, Shehbaz, Jhagra meet

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan yesterday discussed implementation on National Action Plan, law and order of the province and political situation after PTI protest.

The Interior Minister appreciated and expressed satisfaction with the measures adopted by the Punjab government to implement the NAP. This was the second meeting between duo in 24 hours – the first moot was held late Thursday.

Separately, KP Governor Zafar Iqbal Jhagra called on the CM. Speaking on the occasion, Shehbaz said conscious people ‘locked down politics of protest’.

He expressed his party’s resolve to promote inter-provincial harmony, saying: “The people of KP and Punjab are brothers thus we have to work jointly for progress.”

He went on to say: “Punjab government’s step of including students of KP and other provinces in its educational programmes has been resulting in promotion of national solidarity, brotherhood and interprovincial harmony.”

He said the country would continue to progress under the the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

He said that negative politics of stubbornness is harmful for the country. The Chief Minister said that Pakistan cannot afford politics of chaos and anarchy.
