MIRPUR (AJK)-Paying rich tributes to the valiant armed forces of Pakistan, AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider said on Saturday “the armed forces of Pakistan are fighting for our survival”.
“We are grateful to the armed forces of Pakistan for the defence of the people of Azad Kashmir, especially protecting us on the Line of Control”, the AJK Prime Minister said this while addressing a public gathering at the forward town of Hajeera in Sudhanoti district, closed to the Line of Control here on Saturday.
“Army Chief has also reiterated the resolve that protection of people and territory of Azad Kashmir is the first priority of the Pak Army”, Raja Farooq Haider underlined while applauding the role of the Pakistan Army for the defence of the country including AJK.
Ministers of State Chaudhry Muhammad Aziz, Syed Shaukat Shah, Dr Najeeb Naqi, Sardar Mir Akbar Khan, Member Kashmir Council Akhtar Pervaiz Awan, Senior Advisor Khan Bahadur Khan and others also addressed on the occasion.
Characterizing Indian brutalities in Indian occupied Kashmir, the premier stated that Indian Army reflects the mindset of Narendra Modi in Kashmir which imitates that Muslims are not safe even in India.
“We are aware of the problems being faced by the people based near LoC and the government will not leave them alone,” declared the AJK PM, adding that the enemy wants anarchy and chaos but the nation would foil their design with unity.
Focusing on education, the premier said, “The world has now formulated into a global village; without getting modern education, we cannot achieve the desired goals, while reducing staff shortages in schools and colleges, education sector is making progress towards standard education. We are implementing the promises made in general elections.”
He said that the map of the state will change, the reconstruction and development work is ongoing and funds are allocated equally in every constituency, adding that further 290 km roads would be constructed in the state besides the inclusion of the AJK in the CPEC.
He reiterated that solution to Hajira problems is his responsibility and that THQ hospital would be upgraded. “The ideal road will be constructed in Hajira Devi Galli, to make this beautiful area a tourists attraction,” he pointed out.
The AJK PM urged that his government would improve the autonomy of other institutions as well as the accountability system would be made effective.
On the occasion, the AJK PM announced the establishment of NADRA office in Hajira and increasing the compensation amount for the martyrs of Indian firing from Rs0.3 million to Rs0.8 million. He also assured that salaries of lady health workers will be paid within two weeks.
