KE, Nadra sign MoU

KARACHI (PR): K-Electric has signed a memorandum of understanding with National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) after which the two will work together on key initiatives such as new connection e-payments, paying domestic and international bills and e-payments through CNIC/Smart Card amongst other value added initiatives.
The signing ceremony was held at the KE House where KE’s Chief Distribution Officer Syed Muhammad Taha signed the agreement with Saleem Rafik, Director General Operations for NADRA Technologies Limited (NTL). On this occasion, CFO KE Moonis Alvi was also present. On the occasion, Chief Distribution Officer for KE said, “This new agreement will lay the groundwork for new innovative solutions along with cutting-edge technology.
 I have no doubt that the new relationship will promote sharing of mutual benefits to enhance business of both companies and facilitate our consumer’s”.
Saleem Rafik-Director General Operations (NTL) said, “NADRA has already sparked and facilitated IT driven electronic services in Pakistan through use of innovative technologies.  NADRA is determined to bring IT solutions for making life easier and bringing good governance in the country”.

Mobicash, NayaTel ink agreement
LAHORE (PR): Mobicash has signed an agreement with NayaTel Pvt. Ltd. (NTL) whereby it will provide the facility of payment collection for Nayatel customers through Mobicash. NayaTel customers will have the option of making payments through Mobicash Over-the-Counter (OTC) services or Mobicash Mobile Wallet.
Aniqa Afzal Sandhu, Director Mobile Financial Services Mobilink said; “Mobicash is continuously expanding its footprint in terms of outreach as well as services that we offer to bring convenience with trust to our customers’ lives.
Partnering with NayaTel for bill payment solutions is another step towards enhancing customer experience in urban parts of the country just as we continue to bridge the financial gap in the under and unbanked areas of Pakistan.”
Payments through Mobicash Mobile Wallet can be made by the user from their mobile phone but just providing their customer ID. Mobile wallets can be opened by any Mobilink user, from outlets present across the country. For making payment from the any of the 45,000+ mobicash outlets located across the country, customer will just have to provide the customer ID to the retailer for processing of the bill. The payment will be instantly marked against customer ID directly into NayaTel’s account. For ensuring transparency, a confirmation message will be sent immediately to the customer provided mobile number. Payments can be made at any of the 45,000 Mobicash outlets across Pakistan even during non-banking hours. In case of any query customers may contact the 24 hour helpline of mobicash i.e. 4444 or 111-124-444.

Open day in ‘Roots‘
ISLAMABAD (PR): Root International Schools is the pioneer of a creative multi-dimensional programme named as Roots International Innovative Learning programme. Eco-literacy Initiative is a very significant pillar of this programme which evokes student’s perspective towards a better and greener tomorrow.
On the 29th of November an Open Day was conducted nationwide in Roots International Schools, proceeding the theme of Eco-Literacy Initiative.
All branches of RIS situated in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Muzaffarabad, Wah Cantt, Sialkot, Kharian, Multan, Sahiwal, Okara and Gujrat participated to conduct an advantageous and successful event for a sustainable environment.
Walid Mushtaq CEO Roots International Schools visited the campuses and was invited as a Chief Guest. He listened to the presentations prepared by students.

Mobilink invites Snapchat’s CEO to Pakistan
LAHORE (PR): Mobilink recently hosted the first ever visit of Evan Spiegel, CEO of SnapChat to the sub-continent. Evan, who recently was declared as the most influential new media figures under the age of 30 of the year 2014, was invited by Mobilink as a means to share knowledge about international trends in data and app development with students and professionals in Pakistan.
Evan Spiegel is an American Internet entrepreneur who co-founded the mobile application Snapchat along with Reggie Brown and Robert Murphy and is CEO of the company.
According to a recent valuation his company is worth around 10 billion dollars with more than 100 million people using his app.
During his two-day visit Evan met with Mobilink’s data and marketing teams. Mobilink also arranged Evan’s visit to National University of Science and Technology (NUST) for an interactive session with students, entrepreneurs and young professionals. Evan shared his experiences from international markets with focus on their implementation in Pakistan.

Dengue awareness seminar
LAHORE (PR): A dengue awareness seminar was conducted Thursday at Government Degree College (W), Ferozewala under the chairmanship of Principal Mrs Attiya. Muhammad Muzaffar Suhail, Deputy Director (Colleges) Sheikhupura, was the chief guest while Syed Ahmad Bukhari, Principal Punjab College Ferozewala, and Muhammad Nawaz, Deputy District Officer Social Welfare Department, also attended the event.

Development work in DHA
LAHORE (PR): Development work in DHA Lahore’s Sector P, V and W Phase – VII has been completed and 1858 plots, one kanal each, are available for handing over possession to the owners from December 05, 2014. The owners may apply to DHA Lahore for taking over possession as well as permission to construct their houses after completing the formalities and clearance of dues, if any.

AHCL receives SAFA award
LAHORE (PR): Arif Habib Corporation Limited’s (AHCL) Annual Report 2013 achieved yet another distinction by being conferred the ‘First Position’ in the ‘Financial Services Sector’ category by South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) under the ‘Best Presented Accounts Award’ for 2013.
AHCL’s Annual Report 2013 had earlier won the second position in the Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFIs) category in September at the ‘Best Corporate Report Award’ event organized jointly by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan.
