CHINIOT- A girl was gang raped to avenge a petty quarrel here the other night.
As per details, the girl (identity withheld) daughter of Mahla was alone in her house situated in Mohallah Noorwala on the night between December 3 and 4. In the meanwhile, three armed accused including Khizar Hayat and his two accomplices barged into the house by scaling a wall and gang raped the girl.
The accused told the girl that they gang raped her to avenge the abuses her father had hurled at their family members. Meanwhile, after listening to the shrieks, neighbours Mohammad Ali and Qasim rushed to the house but the accused succeeded in fleeing the scene by brandishing pistols.
This incident spread panic among citizens and DPO Abdul Qadir Qamar has constituted an investigation team headed by SP (Investigations), the City DSP and the City Police SHO with the direction to arrest all the culprits within 24 hours.
The City Police registered a case under Section 376-ii PPC and the investigation team arrested all three accused Khizar Hayat and Yousaf, sons of Mamma and Arif, son of Wariam.
PROTEST AGAINST EXTORTIONISTS: The Rickshaw Drivers Association (RDA) lodged a protest in front of DPO Office against some extortionists who charged adda fees from rickshaws and torture them for non-payment. They said that there is no adda fee levied on rickshaws by local government but the extortionists forcibly take cash from them. On the occasion, the Chiniot DPO listened to their complaints and directed the police concerned to lodge FIRs against the extortionists. On his assurance, the drivers dispersed peacefully.
