LAHORE  - CIA Iqbal Town police Friday claimed to have arrested nine persons allegedly involved in dacoity cum murder cases and recovered thousands of rupees and illegal weapons from their possession.
Spokesman for Punjab police said the accused confessed to 52 hardened dacoity bids during which they also murdered 11 people including a police constable and injured 16 people including an FIA constable.
According to the details, a police team headed by DSP CIA Iqbal Town Riaz Shah has nabbed the ringleader of Gujjar Dacoit Gang Usman alias Gujjar  and its eight other members. They include Shakir Ali, Rehman, Shehzad alias Gaggu, Javed alias Cary, Ali Hssan Baloch alias Sindi, Riaz Hussain, Tariq alias Tarqi and Asif.
The criminals used to commit dacoity in police uniforms on motorcycles with bogus number plates. Rehman alias Bhola used to drive rickshaw and provided information to his ringleader about citizens who visited banks. Police also recovered two cars, a rickshaw which was used for crime, motorcycle and illegal weapons.
The accused confessed to another dacoity bid wherein they intercepted an FIA constable Farhat Abbas when he was on his way with his family from Johar Town to Campus Bridge.
