LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting on Friday which reviewed proposals with regard to off-grid solar solution in private sector.
Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said that effective taken were being taken for overcoming energy crisis and a programme had been evolved to install solar panels in primary schools which would help in uninterrupted supply of electricity to the schools . He directed that the project of installation of solar panels in primary schools be given final shape as early as possible.
The chief minister also directed to evolve a business model for installation of solar panels in basic and rural health centers and issued instructions for evolving a pilot project for conversion of a tehsil headquarters hospital completely on solar energy.
The meeting also considered the proposal to provide solar home solution to low-income families on concessionary rate. He directed that comprehensive recommendations be evolved for providing solar home solution to low-income families. He also directed that a practicable project be presented for conversion of agri tubewells and water supply schemes on solar energy.
