LAHORE Denouncing the brutal murder of Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer by a religious fanatic, the business community has termed the murder an act of extremism and terrorism. Different trade bodies, chambers and industrialists associations representatives strongly condemned the brutal murder of the governor, saying that his assassination is a heinous crime, which reflects the intolerant aspect of the society. The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries Regional Chairman Mian Tariq Shafi said that the assassination of Governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer is big loss for the nation. This cruel act has not only disturbed political scene but all segments of our society would also be affected, he added. He said this is an act of terrorism and its routes go to the extremism, and any sort of extremism in society is a big hurdle in the way of progress, which must be eradicated through education because country is already in crises. FPCCI Vice President Ch Aamer Ata Bajwa said that due to this issue economy has been de-stabilized badly which is not in the interest of Pakistan. He said law and order position must be ensured so that foreign investment could not be hindered in any case. Otherwise the local investors are also in confusion in present scenario. If the life of high profiles is not secure then how can a layman feel safety, he said.
