Shujaat, Pervaiz to appear before NAB today

PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and senior leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi will appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) here on Monday (today). Both cousins are appearing before the NAB in a graft case.

They have been accused of possessing assets beyond their known sources of income. The NAB chairman has recently opened the case against the Chaudhrys and summoned them on November 6. A PML-Q media adviser said that Chaudhrys would fully cooperate with the NAB in its investigation, as their hands were clean.

The corruption case against Shujaat and Pervaiz, who served as prime minister and Punjab chief minister, respectively, is part of 179 corruption cases, which the bureau had submitted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 2015. Both leaders addressed a press conference in the afternoon at their residence.
