SADIQABAD - Returning Officer Haji Muhammad Aslam scrutinised the nomination papers of all the political parties’ and independent candidates from NA-197 Sadiqabad constituency to contest the forthcoming general elections. Against these candidates, no other candidate or voter submitted objections whereupon the RO accepted the papers of them all.
The candidates whose forms were accepted include: PPP’s Syed Murtaza Mehmood, Mustafa Mehmood, PML-N’s Arshad Khan Leghari, Safdar Khan Leghari and Raees Munir Ahmad, PTI’s Rafiq Haidar, Shafiq Haidar, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Dr Muhammad Saleem, Haji Abdul Aziz, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Abdul Samad, Mian Mazhar Nisar, All Pakistan Muslim League’s Mushtaq Ahmad, Muttahid Qaumi Movement’s Rao Kaleem, other candidates Haji Abdul Qayyoom, Shaukat Ali Solangi, Masood Ahmad and Awal Khan.
Earlier, the RO asked the candidates Rak’ats of Salah (prayers), Faraiz (obligatory acts) in Salah, and about tax returns. Now, the candidates’ final list will be issued and they will be allotted their respective electoral symbols.
