MULTAN - More than 40 shops were gutted when a fire erupted in a cloth market here on Saturday. According to Rescue 1122 sources, a fire broke out in Kale Mandi cloth market due to short-circuit which all of sudden engulfed more than 40 . As a result, cloths worth millions of rupee and other valuables were reduced to ashes.
The fire-fighters and rescue teams rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire after hectic efforts of several hours. Rescue teams had to face trouble due to narrow streets.
Later, traders staged a protest against Mepco and demanded better arrangements to avoid any such incident in the future.
