ISLAMABAD - Medical Lab Technologist Association of Pakistan arranged 4th National Seminar of MLT with collaboration of College of Medical Lab Technology here at National Institute of Health .
The topic of seminar was “Quality Control and Techniques in Histopathology”. The chief guest of the programme was Director Admin, National Institute of Health , Islamabad, Syed Saqlein Gillani. The programme was held under the presiding of Dr. Umar Farooq Barki, Head of Pathology Department, Kahuta Research Laboratory/Hospital, Islamabad. The stage secretary of this program was MLTstudents Sana Afzal, Miss Safia and the General Secretary of MLTAP Syed Azadar Abbas Gillani.
The speakers said this sensitive field is still waiting for the attention of government. On this occasion Muhammad Ali Malik demanded from the Government that Pakistan Allied Health Council should be established on priority basis, appointment of Medical Technologist on admin posts not only in College of Medical Lab Technology but also in the other institute of Laboratory Technology and to offer the scholarships for higher studies to the position holders and deserving students.
In this Seminar, Jamil Akhtar senior lecturer College of Medical Laboratory Technology, National Institute of Health , Islamabad delivered his presentation on “Techniques in Histopathology”, Qazi Obaidullah, Senior Microbiologist from Institute of Public Health , Lahore delivered his presentation on “Quality Assurance in Laboratory (An overview”) and Professor Dr Umar Farooq Barki form Kahuta Research Lab/Hospital, Islamabad delivered his presentation on “Quality Control in Histopathology”.
The chief guest of this seminar Director Admin, National Institute of Health , Islamabad Syed Saqlain Gillani appreciated the whole team of Medical Laboratory Technologists Association of Pakistan (MLTAP) for arranging such a tremendous and informative seminar not only for the student of MLT but also for the awareness of journal public. He said that there is no treatment possible without the proper diagnosis and by arranging of such these seminars we can highlight the importance of diagnosis specially for the purpose of treatment. He assured to the executive body of MLTAP for his cooperation for the solution of problems facing by Medical Technologists.
Principal College of Medical Laboratory Technology,  National Institute of Health Dr. Muhammad Hussain delivered his presentation on “Updates in the Field of Medical Laboratory Technology”. Scholars, lecturers, researchers with hundred of students from different institutes / medical colleges / universities of Pakistan participated in this seminar.
