Khars decide Hina not to contest election

MUZAFFARGARH - Former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar’s father announced his family’s decision that his daughter would not take part in the forthcoming general elections.
“However, she is my covering candidate in NA-177. She is not interested to be elected on special seat. Perhaps she intends to serve in the United Nations. I did not contest the 2008 elections because of the condition of graduation,” said Malik Ghulam Noor Rabbani Khar.
To a question, he said, “Jamshed Dasti does not matter for us. We carry out neat and clean politics and we also avoid mud-slinging on our opponents. He (Dasti) has met his fate.” He said that Hina would not be contesting the elections on the general seat. I, however, will stay in the contest.”
When asked that the revised list of PPP’s women candidates on reserved seats did not carry Hina’s name, he replied that according to the new rules, the party head has the authority to revise the list any time. Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar, the provincial chief of the PML-F who is uncle of Hina Rabbani, is also contesting from NA-178.
