Man throws acid on wife, 3 children

KARACHI – A man threw acid on his wife, three children and other relatives over a petty issue at Nusrat Bhutto Colony within the remits of Shahrah-e-Noorjahan police station.
Police said that Asghar Ali scuffled with his wife Ruqqaiya over some petty issue. He got infuriated and threw acid and wounded his wife Ruqqaiya, four children Waqas, Hussnain, Ahmed and Usman.
The wife of Ali’s brother and mother of Ruqaqiya were also wounded when they rushed to protect them. Ali managed to escape while burnt families were shifted to Civil Hospital where doctors termed the condition of children critical.
Police registered a case and also raided various areas in search of the culprit.
SEVEN KILLED: At least seven people were killed in various violent incidents here on Saturday.
Shehryar Nawaz, 28, was standing near Nada-e-Ali stop, Jaffer Tayyar Society where gunmen riding a motorbike shot him and managed to flee. Police rushed to the spot and shifted him to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Police have yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder.
In another mysterious incident of target killing, 20-year-old Sajjad was gunned down in Future Colony, Landhi within the remits of Sharafi Goth police station.
Police transported the body to hospital for autopsy and later handed over to the family.
In another incident of firing, Abdul Kareem was shot dead in Gulzarabad within the remits of Manghopir police station. Police shifted the victim to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he succumbed to injuries. The motive behind the murder has yet to be ascertained.
One Muhammad Ali was going on his motorbike when he was shot dead by some unidentified gunmen within the remits of New Karachi police station. A passerby woman was also wounded in the incident. Both the victims were taken to the hospital where doctors pronounced the death of Ali while admitted woman with bullet wounds.
Nappier Police found a tortured body from Old Hajji Camp area. Police shifted the body to morgue after autopsy. Police said that some unidentified gunmen picked him up and later threw at the said place.
Sachal Police found a shot dead body of a businessman who was abducted two days ago. Police said that the victim Suleman Zain was abducted and his shot dead body was found from the bushes after two days. Police took the body to morgue after autopsy where the victim’s family identified him.
A commander of defunct Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was killed in an alleged encounter with rangers in Lasi Goth area of Sohrab Goth. Police sources said that Naimatullah Mehsud, a notorious commander of TTP, was involved in various attacks on law enforcers in Sohrab Goth area. Rangers claimed that militants started firing when rangers reached the area. In retaliation, Mehsud killed while his two accomplices were managed to flee.
