The chief executive of an international travel agency and a vendor were shot and injured by 10 armed men. The police have arrested three of the accused while the other managed their good escape.
According to police source, accused Saghir son of Arif, Saqib and Abdul Aziz and seven unidentified accused of Chak Kharl visited the premises of international travel agency on busiest Jinnah Chowk today where they quarreled with the gunman and opened fire as a result of which bullets hit Rana Muhammad Arshad Anjum on their left shoulder while another bullet hit a pushcart vendor Asghar.
The injured was shifted to the DHQ hospital from where Rana Muhammad Arshad was referred to Jinnah Hospital Lahore. The DPO Muhammad Zubair Dreshak immediately visited DHQ Hospital to enquire after his health and assured that remaining accused would be arrested shortly.
Meanwhile, Chairman Press Club Muhammad Yaqoob Shahzad Amar, Rana Yousaf Waheed, Anjum Sohail, Muhammad Qayyum Gujjar, Hafiz Muhammad Aziz-ur-Rehman, Malik Humayun Shahzad, Abdul Khaliq, Abdul Hameed Rahmani, have strongly condemned the murderous assault on Rana Muhammad Arshad Anjum and demanded registration of a case against the accused under Anti-terrorist Act.
