Sadiq Public School is one of the finest residential public schools for both boys and girls. Unfortunately, during the last 10 years, the Principals have been changed very frequently and there have been a lot of cases of corruption and mismanagement also. The ex students of the school heaved a sigh of relief when one of the old students of Sadiq Mr. Nauman Qureshi was appointed Principal in 2014 and the school graph went up and there was improvement seen in all fields. The results improved and the school students not only took part in the National Competitions but for the first time in the history of the school the students went to UK, USA and Canada to participate in events held abroad. The school buildings were renovated and given a new look after 60 years. During the period from 2014- 2017 the school was rated as the 5th best school in Pakistan after Aitchison College. It would be pertinent to mention here that Sadiq was not even in top 10 schools of Pakistan before 2014.

It is worth mentioning here that during the last 3 years, students of Sadiq Public School achieved distinction in all the Bahawalpur Board exams. In 2017, it was for the first time in the 64 years history of the school that a student secured 2nd position in the Matriculation exams. In June 2014 the strength of the school had fallen from 2000 plus to 1800 students. There were a record number of admissions in the school during the last 3 years and purely on merit. The school now has 2700 students.

It came as a shock to all the present and ex students that due to the incompetency of the present government, the Vice Principal was asked to take charge in the end of July and after 3 years of excellent work a AD HOC administration is not running but ruining the school . All the good work of 3 years has been undone in 3 months. As soon as Mr Nauman Qureshi left, the administrative staff has started the practice of taking commission from all the school contractors. The Vice Principal is helpless because of his incompetency. He is just a puppet with no decision at all.

I would like to request the Punjab Government to take immediate action and appoint a Principal on merit to save one of our best institutions.

CHAUHDRY AMIR NAZIR,
